There are tons of African Americans and other races that go to space…hence the name International Space Station. It is operated and paid for by ESA (European Space Alliance), JAXA (JAPAN), Russia and others and all partake in going into space via NASA’s orbiters.

As far as astronauts go, NASA far from just picks anyone. It is a very rigorous process of which many, many quallified people are forced to be turned down due to lack of funding, etc. For instance, the average US citizen spends more money on lip balm everyday than they do on NASA. And you may not realize it, but tons of everyday technology was discovered by or because of NASA…like the idea to use mammograms to find breast cancer (or something along those lines, I’m not entirely sure)…but never-the-less, a lot of very positive things that most don’t realize come from NASA.

Also, Leland Melvin is an example of a black astronaut who just recently went into space and you can’t tell me that he is “just some lame guy,” I mean he played college football full scholarship for the University of Richmond and than played for the Detriot Lions and Dallas Cowboys. He has already lived quite an amazing life and I think represents the black community pretty well. I can’t exactly interpret what you meant by “bruthas” but I would have to think that Melvin would be one.

I understand if you upset about the way your world is right now but if you’re going to rant, you should at least complain about something that makes sense and is true. Do some research before you form such strong opinions that way you can make educated decisions.
