The way I see it, shit like Soulja-boy, while technically hip-hop, is what I would consider musical-pornography. I say this becasue it gives you rythm, the dancibility, the catchyness of decent stuff. In this respect it satisfies our base desires, it gives us what feels good… to a certain extent. But it’s not art, it’s empty of any substance, vapid, and is as thought provoking as belly-button lint, much like actual pornography.
