It's a dog eat dog world. I mean there are people out there, harvesting peoples' organs just to make a quick buck. It makes me sick to my stomach.

To stay on topic, I remember when Obama first got elected: his face was all over t-shirts, shoes, etc in stores like Walgreens. And people were coughing up 10-20 bucks for this shit, and actually wearing that shit to school. Like a gold-plated portrait of Obama on a black t-shirt. Shit just looked ridiculous.

I understand where the sense of pride and symbolic meaning behind it, but there are better ways to express both than to just taking it up the ass by these corporations.

I remember when Barry White died. Less than a week went by and they had CD box set out in memory of him. Motherfuckers must have been tripping over themselves to the bank when they heard he died. No respect. Its like they have the Printers on speed dial as soon as they hear hes unwell ready to make that cool to rinse their dead asses.

Cool update BigEd

[In regards to the post...]

I feel the exact same way every time I go down Crenshaw Blvd.... There are tons of foreign vendors selling their bootleg shirts.

What really gets me, is that they do it because they KNOW they'll be able to make money off of nignorant bandwagon bitches in the hood.

People need understand that a cheap-ass bootleg t-shirt isn't the way to remember all the good things someone has done and stop buying into that popular bull shit.

A t-shirt is a t-shirt is a t-shirt. We wear uniforms that say things like Ralph Lauren, FUBU, Akedemiks, Ed Hardy, and a host of others that in my opinion are as dead as Michael Jackson is. Usually, we deal out more than 10 or 20 dollars for these relics of mainstream middle class fatuity. Yet, we do not write full blogs on the idiocy of wearing clothing mass-produced poorly for the consumption of egomaniacs that believe wearing the same shit that hundreds or thousands of others are wearing will increase their personal capital. If I had a nickel for every ridiculous person that has explained to me with a comic air of self that their made in China thin Egyptian cotton pre washed t-shirt embellished with a skull and cross bones cost them 80 dollars, I could buy a Michael Jackson t-shirt. And that is what I did. I purchased a Michael Jackson t-shirts on the streets of Chicago from an African American man out of the back of his broken down minivan, while his children played in the car lot under our feet. Best 20 dollars I ever spent. I wear that t-shirt to commemorate the man that forced nations to rebuild orphanages before he would tour their cities. I wear the t-shirt to commemorate a man that enriched my childhood because his songs brought my family together on Sunday mornings singing and dancing. I wear the t-shirt because I know that when I bought it a man and his children had a little money to go towards shoes, pants and coats. Let’s just hope that these items weren’t Ed Hardy.
