It’s personal, like….why I don’t smoke weed, or cigarettes, or go around mistreating animals. I know the shit is wrong, and I’m not about to have some sort of cognitive dissonance going on where I psychologically convince myself that what I’m doing is perfectly fine. Some niggas do this, though.

I came to my conclusions from pure logical reasoning (well, at least as pure as it can get), and a bit of humanity, I should add. I didn’t just wake up and say, “Fuck it, I’m a vegetarian”, because being vegetarian seems to be the flavor of the month or some shit. I didn’t see other vegetarians and think, “I’d love to be like those stuck up niggas.” This shit was a long process of thought, my niggas. In this regard, it didn’t come on as a religion, as my “faith”, if you can call it that (I’d rather not), is not blind. I can change my mind at any moment, and I know that. I am consciously and conscientiously *choosing* to live this way, ya’ll feels a nigga.

I *do* believe we treat animals like shit in this country, and the hypocrites love to speak up the moment some Michael Vick nigga kills a dog or some shit like that, saying “Oh that was barbaric”. They say this shit in front of that juicy veal, or that turkey dinner. It never really mattered to me the *reason* why the dog, cat, pig, snake, or whatever was killed. Killing animals can always be avoided, unless, I mean damn nigga, it was really trying to eat your ass and you had no choice. And there are such things as mistakes, as they happen on the highway all the time, so okay. But my niggas, the fact that we *think* can discriminate which animals deserve to be killed makes me realize how much hubris exists in our society even to this day. We humans are still stuck on this, “We inherit the world” shit, we still think we the masters of mother nature and shit….niggas is pollutin’, niggas ain’t recyclin’, niggas drivin’ they big ass trucks around and don’t give a fuck….yeah….we’ll see. Our time is comin’, niggas.

You see, I used to eat meat, so I can sympathize with some niggas who can’t get off it. Some niggas just can’t get off chicken because it’s a part of their diet. They can’t quit it like a ‘head can’t quit the dope, or a wino can’t quit the alc.

Bottom line, niggas will always want to justify whatever they do, even when they know the shit is wrong. Also, I’m about the only mutha fucka who be drinkin pomagranite juice, and be drinkin green tea as well on a daily basis, other than my sleepyhead friend.

Anyway all I got to say is there is nothing wrong with trying a way to better yourself. Shit if more niggas would try to better themselves they’d find shit would start falling into place for them better. Now I don’t mean a nigga got to eat like me and shit. I just mean in general, niggas of all kinds got to be doin better for theyselves or else they just ain’t going to get anywhere.

I think we can have both. Elimination of animal cruelty *and* elimination of niggas killing niggas.

I myself enjoy meat, even to the extent of filing papers so I can go out with a high powered weapon and kill things myself. Just because I hunt doesn’t mean I’m malicious to the deer that’s caught up in a population boom. I just want to send a small piece of (non-toxic tungsten) through his heart and have a moment of silence in honor of life. I fully respect you decision about your life.

p.s. easy microwave coconut tofu curry

1 tbsp curry (can substitute wit bbq powder or jerk seasoning)
1/2 chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp cilantro or other green herb of choice
1 tbsp ginger (more/less to taste)
1 small onion (yellow is usually best)
3 cloves garlic
1 can coconut milk (light also works)
1 1/2 tbsp tomato paste
1 package tofu drained (pre-cubed kind works best)
pot of rice

Grease glass baking pan and nuke greased tofu for 2 min, then combine all ingredients EXCEPT tomato paste and HALF a can of coconut milk; stir and microwave for 5-7 min. Take pan out of microwave and move stuff inside to sides; put in tomato paste and rest of coconut milk, stir to make it pink, then combine with rest of dish and nuke until thickened to desired consistency (you can nuke tofu for a long time and it won’t change consistency).

Serve over rice

I’m wit you though on the deer thing. First off I know there is a population boom. Where I work there are some forrest preserves (yes in the ghetto there are forest preserves in Illinois.) and about 2 weeks ago I noticed that every field we had around had a deer in it, no matter how small the field. The field could have been the size of a lot for a house, and still there would have been about 4 or 5 deer up in that bitch. I had a feeling there was a boom.

Yesterday the professor was talking about how in terms of wealth and enlightenment, it’s coming back around again to some extent: Arab countries in the middle east, majority Muslim, are having a big influx of money due to oil demands. He’s predicting that their universities are going to be able to pay a lot of money to attract top scholars, and once they do, they become intellectual centers.
